Celtic captain Callum McGregor was one step ahead of the media today as he refused to get drawn into the talk of a treble.
The attitude of Ange Postecoglou’s squad on the domestic front has been almost perfect during the 18 months of the Australian’s tenure at Parkhead.
The Bhoys only suffered a handful of defeats on their way to winning the Scottish Premiership and Premier Sports cup last season.

And so far in the 2022/23 campaign, the Hoops have lost just one game, as they aim to go one better and secure a full sweep of trophies in Scotland.
Of course, the thought of winning trophies or even a treble is at the very back of Ange Postecoglou and his player’s minds, with the mindset very much being to focus on just one game at a time.
The 57-year-old has made that clear to his squad, and that is the reason the champions have been so successful up until now under the former Socceroos boss.
With a cup semi-final on the horizon, it is easy for supporters to start dreaming of a potential showpiece match and return to Hampden Park next month.
However, the Bhoys must first dispatch of Derek McInnes’ Kilmarnock side, who could provide a tricky test at the country’s national stadium on Saturday
Speaking ahead of Celtic’s first visit to Hampden of this season, Celtic captain Callum McGregor refused to get drawn into any trophy talk, as he, once again, displayed the point that the squad only focuses on one game at a time.

The Celtic captain has been here before, and earlier today, he was one step ahead of the Scottish media after he deliver the perfect reply when asked about any potential treble talk.
In response to the question of if this squad had the ability to win a treble, McGregor responded [Celtic FC]: “I was waiting on that one.
“You’ve probably heard me saying it enough times now, we focus on the next game, and the next game is the biggest, and that’s Saturday.”
He continued: “I’ve touched on it there, I think it (last season’s Premier Sports Cup success) was vital for the group. It just sort of keeps you going on the right track and lets everybody know that you are doing some good things at the training ground.
“So it’s a similar mindset this year; obviously, we have full preparation on the game at the weekend. If we progress to the final, then we’ll look at that when it comes.
“But it’s always important to win.”

Callum McGregor refuses to get drawn into any trophy talk with big game to come on Saturday.
With so many games still to go in the Scottish domestic season, Callum McGregor’s response to any treble suggestions was spot on this afternoon.
Despite the Bhoys having such a healthy lead at the top of the league and both cup competitions up for grabs, there is no advantage in discussing our trophy hopes.
Ultimately, it is about focusing on one game at a time, starting with this weekend’s trip to Hampden Park as we face Kilmarnock.
Postecoglou and his players are clearly well aware of this and are not about to start letting complacency slip into the Celtic Park dressing room.
Of course, as supporters, at the beginning of any season, it is natural to start dreaming about winning trophies, particularly as a Celtic fan and with a semi-final on the horizon.
However, it is important that the players and coaching staff aren’t getting too ahead of themselves, which Postecoglou has brilliantly managed since his arrival.
There is no doubt in my mind that what McGregor had to say at today’s press conference is the exact attitude each Celtic player is taking, and the hard work is going in ahead of our Hampden return.
