Read MoreCallum McGregor's brilliant message about new Celtic players; they completely get it
Celtic captain Callum McGregor says there’s no need to worry about whether the Bhoys’ new players get the magnitude of this season.
Because make no mistake, the captain says, they do.
In previous campaigns, even successful ones, we’ve occasionally seen players drift in and out of the club. Perhaps they just don’t connect for whatever reason. Maybe they’re only playing a bit-part role, or they’re on loan with an eye on next season. It happens.
McGregor, though, is determined that every member of his Celtic squad is focused on one goal; winning as many trophies as possible.
The Hoops captain, who spoke about his own responsibilities as a leader, lauded the “fantastic” new group of players at Celtic, saying they understand their role in keeping the supporters happy.
He said [Newschain]: “We just take each game as it comes, continue to work hard on a daily basis and see where that takes us.
“We are always drip-feeding information – the manager, experienced players – on a daily basis. But we do that with the way we train and conduct ourselves as well.
“But the new players have been absolutely fantastic up to now – they understand it, they get the responsibility that they have to the supporters, to the club.”

Callum McGregor is the honest type; we know he means what he says about new Celtic players
Now, this is good to hear.
It didn’t sound as if he was particularly pressed to discuss how the newest Celtic players felt about the league title, or the prospect of a treble. Instead, it seemed clear that he wanted to emphasise just how “fantastic” Ange’s additions to the squad have been.
In fairness, we’ve had no reason to suspect otherwise. With each and every signing, the utter commitment to Ange’s tactics and the knowledge of the privilege they have playing for Celtic has been crystal clear. Particular characters like Kyogo, Joe Hart, Jota and Josip Juranovic have led the way, but each new face has had shared the same, unified message.
When you’re chasing a Treble, this is the attitude you need, and the words you want to hear. It’s more than that, though; these Celtic players, regardless of how long they’ve been here, are showing that in their play.
It’s in the pressing, the creation of opportunities, winning headers, everything. You can see it right in front of you when you watch these Celtic players putting on a show.
Every game from now is absolutely colossal. We don’t need reminding of that.
But to be assured that every new Celtic player understands their responsibility? You love to see it.
