Callum Osmand makes an admission about ‘toughest season’ after Celtic win domestic double

Even though Callum Osmand has played very little for Celtic this season, he has still produced some monumental and magical moments for the club.

From Osmand’s goal against Rangers in the League Cup semi-final back in November, and perhaps the best of the lot, his goal against Hearts on the final day of the Premiership campaign.

It all ended with Osmand winning the domestic double in his debut campaign at Celtic, as well as a professional after signing from Fulham last summer.

But the road hasn’t been easy for the versatile forward, who admitted after Celtic won the Scottish Cup, that this has been ‘the toughest season of my life.’

“So proud of this team, enjoy your summer, Celts,” said Osmand. “On a personal note, the toughest season of my life, so so happy I got to contribute at the end.”

Callum Osmand vows to come back stronger next season for Celtic

It needs to be noted that, even though Brendan Rodgers was in charge when Osmand moved to Glasgow, he hardly played him, and on many occasions, didn’t even put him in his matchday squads.

It was Martin O’Neill’s first spell, and that goal against Rangers, which changed everything, but then injury hit in November in the Europa League.

Those six or so months on the sidelines are what Osmand is probably referring to on Instagram, as he added that he will ‘make sure’ he is in the ‘best shape’ possible next season.

‘DOUBLEEE !! 💚💚,’ wrote Osmand. ‘So proud of this team, enjoy your summer, Celts ❤️.

‘On a personal note, the toughest season of my life, so so happy I got to contribute at the end 🍀🏆. I have a little while now to make sure I’m in the best shape possible for 26/27 to give you all what you deserve, see you next season 🫶.’

Osmand needs to be used more next season

If O’Neill is Celtic’s manager next season, then you know that Osmand will play regularly, which is what a player of his talents deserves.

Amid Celtic’s search for goals this season, which has been a major issue for large parts, Osmand has goals in him, but he just needs those chances.

From Moussa Dembele to Jeremie Frimpong, Celtic have been here before, where they have signed an unknown quantity with no senior appearances, and they have turned out to be a gem.

You sense the same could happen here with Osmand!
