Calvin Miller may be facing the rest of the season out with injury but the Celtic man is clearly still keeping the club at heart.

The 21-year-old, who confirmed he wouldn’t play again this season on his Instagram account in September, was keeping a watchful eye as the Bhoys saw off Lazio 2-1 in the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night.

And the youngster enjoyed it so much that he retweeted the below tweet from host broadcasters BT Sport of Olivier Ntcham’s winning goal. The clip featured a euphoric Chris Sutton shouting “Oh, c’mon” and “Wow, wow, wow” as the Frenchman’s delicate chip struck the back of the net in the 95th minute of an engrossing encounter.

It wasn’t just Miller who picked out Sutton video

Sutton’s reaction seemed to generate a lot of interest from non Celtic fans too. Well known sports presenter Jake Humphrey tweeted a video of the commentary and said: “Love this from Chris Sutton. Passion”.

Sutton’s euphoria just adds to what was an incredible moment for Celtic. We’ve had a lot of big moments over the past five years or so. Tom Rogic and Odsonne Edouard’s treble-winning goals certainly spring to mind for pure emotion.

But in a purely European context, Ntcham’s finish is right up there. The way he took the goal after a poor first touch in the final minute of the match to send us through to the last 32. Away to the group’s top seeded side. The team currently fourth in Italy. It really does take some beating.

Many will look at our performance in Rome and wonder how far this team can go in this year’s competition. Winning the group will likely give us an easier last 32 tie. From there on it really is a lottery how you get on.

But Celtic won’t come up against many better teams than Lazio this season. Even in the later rounds of the competition.
