Cameron Carter-Vickers has explored Celtic’s goals for the remainder of the Champions League league phase as the Bhoys prepare to take on Club Brugge tomorrow night.
The United States international starred in the Bhoys’ victory over Leipzig before the last international break and is now fit and firing after injury complications earlier this term.
Now, the focus after Celtic claiming three points against Hearts turns back to the European table, where they are in a favourable position to secure progression if their current momentum continues.

Four Champions League encounters have come and gone for Brendan Rodgers’ side, yielding seven points from 12 available despite some trying tasks along the way.
With another victory in the Bhoys’ sights, Cameron Carter-Vickers has touched on where the dressing room’s heads are at ahead of Celtic’s clash against Club Brugge.
Cameron Carter-Vickers on Celtic’s Champions League targets
Speaking ahead of the tie, Carter-Vickers has admitted Celtic are ‘pretty close’ to achieving their initial goal in the Champions League, which was to claim roughly ten points from their league phase fixtures.
He explained: “To be honest, around the beginning of the competition we kind of outlined how many points we wanted to reach.
“Since then, we’ve just been taking it game by game. I think we’re in a strong position at the moment so it’s just about adding to that points tally and seeing how many points we can achieve.”
When asked if the tally was ten points: “Yeah, it was around that. We feel as a group we’re probably pretty close to getting out of this group phase of the tournament.
“Like I said, there’s four games left and we want to get positive results in all of them, so it’s just us against ourselves now to see how many points we can get.”
Celtic taking the Champions League a game at a time
Despite the temptation to get too excited, the Celtic dressing room appears to be a sea of calm in the face of some excellent Champions League displays.
Ultimately, Europe’s top competition will always be fraught with danger if you aren’t switched on. Taking your eye off the ball for one moment can prove costly, there isn’t any margin for error.
Taking the league phase one game at a time is the optimum mode of operation. While work is ongoing to achieve success, the conclusion of matchday eight is where the Bhoys will fully weigh up their collective performance.
