Cameron Carter-Vickers is probably Celtic’s most important player.

The centre-back is the best player in that position since Virgil van Dijk and the American has made it look easy at times.

Without Carter-Vickers, Celtic would look far worse and concede more goals. In fact, the Hoops have gone 649 minutes without conceding a goal this season, with the 27-year-old a crucial part of that.

There aren’t many weak points to Carter-Vickers’ game, as proved by one stat he is leading the way in.

Cameron Carter-Vickers has flawless tackle success rate

While Liam Scales is more of the possession-based centre-back in the pairing, Carter-Vickers is the destroyer.

Try and get past him if you dare, but it’s very unlikely as according to BBC Sport, the Celtic defender has a 100 per cent tackle success rate – something nobody else has.

Additionally, the 27-year-old has already made 18 clearances, won possession back 20 times and made five interceptions.

Celtic must keep Cameron Carter-Vickers

Failure to qualify for the Champions League has plunged the futures of some Celtic players.

Chris Sutton thinks Carter-Vickers could leave for a new challenge, along with some of his teammates, but losing the defender would be a big blow.

Following Daizen Maeda’s admission that he wants to leave, others may follow suit.

Some players can be replaced, but in Carter-Vickers’ case, it is very hard to replace him.
