Every time Celtic win a derby match against Rangers it’s satisfying for a number of different reasons.

It gives the club an obvious sporting advantage across the season, it’s always fantastic to see the Bhoys give the best of themselves, it bursts unearned hype or arrogance in a heated rivalry and, frankly, it’s just pretty funny.

There are always moments of comedy in these matches and when the result goes your way, those are celebrated for a long time. That’s especially true in the internet age with memes and patter potentially flying about for years around specific matches.

And what was the big theme on that side of things this time? Rangers fans wildly celebrating a number of goals and decisions that, correctly, went against them.

From the offside goal within 60 seconds through Kemar Roofe’s disallowed effort in the first half, to even the VAR signal from the referee – Ibrox was entirely caught up in joy several times, only to have their hopes dashed. It’s a good laugh.

And popular YouTube channel RonnieJ67 Celtic Fan Content has expertly collected together a compilation of Rangers fan footage to see how that all played out from the perspective of the Ibrox stands. It’s comedy gold and you can see the video via this link or embedded below.

The video has already racked up well over 30,000 views so is proving to be a big hit with supporters. I expect it will be consistently shared around future derby matches. This derby will go down as the one Celtic ruined an Ibrox party.

You can understand why there’s been such an outcry from across the city about their future direction under Michael Beale. The embarrassment takes a toll.
