Celtic have produced some brilliant talents over the years.

Some have stayed to learn the trade at Celtic Park while others have gone on to fulfil their potential elsewhere.

No matter where they go on to be a success, their roots always firmly remain at Lennoxtown.

Callum McGregor is the perfect example of one who has stayed and been a success whereas Karamoko Dembele is a player that chose to try his luck elsewhere.

Success can also guarantee big-money moves, as one former academy prospect knows.

Bournemouth set to sign Ben Doak

Fans only got to see Ben Doak briefly during his Celtic days after he made his first-team debut at the age of 16.

He was then signed by Liverpool and has already become a full Scotland international before reaching the age of 20.

Premier League clubs have been interested in Doak for some time but it seems that Bournemouth have won the race.

According to BBC Sport, the deal will see the 19-year-old move to the South Coast for an initial £20m fee, with a further £5m in add-ons.

It will give the chance for Doak to play regular first team football after only making 10 appearances for Liverpool since joining in 2022.

Ben Doak to reunite with former Celtic star

Moving to a new club has its challenges but there will be one familiar face in ex-Celtic star Ryan Christie down at the Vitality Stadium.

Christie joined Bournemouth in 2021 – one year before Doak left for Liverpool and the pair would no doubt have interacted on the training ground.

Although they never played together at Celtic, having that connection will be a welcome boost to the youngster as he looks to move onto the next stage of his career.
