Celtic have announced their ticket prices for the upcoming pre-season friendly matches at Parkhead against Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City respectively.
The Hoops will battle the Championship pair in what will be our only home friendly fixtures before the Premiership campaign gets underway on July 31st.
Blackburn, managed by Jon Dahl Tomasson, will take the trip to Glasgow’s East End on July 16th. 7 days later will see Norwich do the same in what will be our final pre-season encounter of the summer.
And Celtic have announced that the standard ticket prices for adults will stand at £16. Concession tickets will be £10 whilst children under 13 can get in for £5.
Both matches will be free for season-ticket holders in a positive move from the club. It will be the first opportunity for fans to see new signings such as Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei in action on home soil.
Celtic have 6 games to navigate in their pre-season schedule this summer, kicking off against Wiener Viktoria tomorrow evening.
Celtic looking for strong pre-season displays as momentum already generating
It doesn’t matter that it’s always pre-season friendly matches – the first games of the new season at Celtic Park always generate a level of excitement.
But Celtic are currently in a unique situation. A place in which they haven’t been in for a long time. They not only go into the current pre-season schedule as champions and with a settled squad, but they go in having already made 4 signings and with a ton of momentum on their side.
Normally, pre-season for Celtic tends to be a rebuilding job combined with a momentum generator. An opportunity for us to get the morale levels boosted before the competitive stuff begins. But not even that is a concern at the moment.
Celtic couldn’t be in a stronger place than they currently are. At this stage of the transfer window we normally still have a host of positions to fill. Yet now we find ourselves heading into our first friendly match of the campaign with just a bit of transfer tweaking to do before we’re all sorted for the new campaign.
Of course, the pressure that comes with playing for this football club doesn’t just go away. Ange Postecoglou is a winner and that kind of mentality has already been instilled into this group. That will continue to be the case during our friendly games, with nothing less than victories and positive performances expected.
It’s great to see the Bhoys back in action once again, and their return to Celtic Park can’t come quickly enough either.
