Talks about bringing Filip Benkovic back on loan are dying down despite early chat. Perhaps the money set for the Frenchman is best going towards bringing the Croatian back permanently.

However, why are Celtic relying on an unknown quantity when they can ask Benkovic the question?

Now under Brendan Rodgers, he may have a better opportunity to get into the team.

Nevertheless, Celtic should be enquiring to see if there’s any availability to bring Benkovic back.

He pulled the club through an early tough season and was the driving force to Europa League last 32 qualification. Benkovic is a fantastic defender who can play at the highest level.

He is the one who will drag Celtic back into the Champions League next season – it’s a no brainer.
