The Celtic board are facing perhaps the most important summer in the history of the club. That might sound hyperbolic, but the board have two huge decisions to make.
Not only do the club have to appoint a new permanent manager. They also have to appoint a new head of recruitment.
The most recent head of recruitment, Lee Congerton, quit Celtic on Saturday to move to Leicester to join up with former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.

Positions must be filled as soon as possible
That means that two of the most important positions at the club have to be filled, and as soon as possible.
The manager’s job may well be revealed by the end of the month. You would have to imagine that a decision will be made after the Scottish Cup Final.

It might take more time for the new head of recruitment to be appointed. However, with the transfer window opening next month, the Hoops will have to have a new man in place quickly.
10 in a row looms in the background

In the background in the spectre of 10 in a row. The Hoops support will demand that the appointments are made as soon as possible, so there are no distractions in the quest for first nine, then 10 in a row.
If the appointments don’t work out, and Celtic miss out on 10 in a row, the Hoops support will not forgive the men in charge of the club.
That is why this summer is so incredibly important.
