Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths took to social media to say he will be back in 2019.
The Scotland international is going through personal problems and is taking a football sabbatical.
However, fans were boosted to see their number nine take to Twitter to wish fans a happy new year.
Griffiths will be back soon
The 28-year-old posted last night: “Been off for a while, but Happy new year when it comes.
“2019 I’ll be back doing what I do best, helping the team achieve as much as we can and I can’t wait.
“Here’s three memorable days of the year – three trophies.”

Fans flocked to comment and like the tweet by the former Hibernian striker.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted Griffiths at the recent Edinburgh Derby with a smile on his face.
It appears Celtic and Brendan Rodgers are keeping to their word and letting the striker recover in his own time.
Finisher not prepared to back down from criticism
Despite his problems, Griffiths still doesn’t back down from any bad feedback that comes his way.
Classless individuals have still been having a go at Griffiths, and one bad-mouthed fan commented that the picture posted with the tweet showed that Scottish competitions are sponsored by betting companies.
In good form, the forward was on-target when he said: “Along with the league, league cup and Scottish cup.”
This is a welcome sight to the Celtic support as Griffiths appears to be getting back to his normal self.

The Edinburgh-born forward had taken a step back from social media, probably to help his recovery.
How far he is from being 100% is unknown, but Rodgers is looking for two strikers in the meantime.
The potential six month loan deal for Timothy Weah would be perfect for all parties.

The youngster would get game-time and allow the current Celtic striker ample time to recover.
Everyone wishes Leigh the speediest and best recovery.
