Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has dismissed the notion he’s thinking about what’s going at Rangers, delivering a classic one-liner at a media conference today.
The Ibrox side sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst a couple of weeks ago, replacing him with inexperienced manager Michael Beale.
Asked for his reaction to these events today, Postecoglou made it clear it’s pretty far down the rankings on things he’s been concerning himself with.

Speaking to reporters, the Bhoys boss said [Celtic YouTube]: “On the scale of things that have been on my mind over the last two weeks, I reckon that’s registering below what I’m having for dinner tonight. It just doesn’t really come on my radar. What opposition clubs do, with their managers, any opposition club, is of no real interest unless we’re playing them in the next game.
“Beyond that, no real interest. From my perspective, Gio I thought was and is a fantastic manager who has a great record in Holland and actually a great record here in Scotland too. If you look at his year, he won a trophy and got to a European trophy. I have no doubt he’ll be successful wherever he goes again.
“In terms of me, or my thoughts on what other clubs do. I have zero interest. I have enough on my plate.”
It’s a fantastic response to an inevitable question. Postecoglou likes to have a laugh, but he’s making a more serious point that Celtic need to remain entirely focused on themselves and not drawn into what’s going on across the city.
As supporters, of course we will have a look at developments elsewhere but internally, at Lennoxtown, they have exactly the kind of focus we want. Postecoglou will not allow any other mindset.
Brilliant stuff from the manager yet again.
