Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that David Turnbull is “almost back training” in an update given to the written press this weekend, as reported by The Daily Record.
Turnbull has been out of Celtic action since the Scottish League Cup Final against Hibernian in December.
The attacking midfielder pulled up with a hamstring injury and was visibly distressed heading off the park.
His muscle problem ended up being more serious than anyone hoped and he has been in rehabilitation ever since.

David Turnbull Celtic return is a significant boost
Thankfully, Celtic managed to make two signings in his position last month, meaning Postecoglou hasn’t been left without options.
Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley have both impressed since joining the club, with Tom Rogic also available.
However, getting Turnbull back to fitness to add another midfield option is definitely very welcome.
The Scotland international was a huge part of the manager’s plans in the first half of the season, making 34 appearances in total.
That high load may well have contributed to his injury, but it shows Postecoglou trusts him.
His attacking contribution was notable with nine goals and seven assists in all competitions. Adding that kind of impact back into the team for the Scottish Premiership run-in is a significant boost.
Given previous comments from Postecoglou linking the two injuries, it also means Kyogo Furuhashi should also be a couple of weeks away from training, all going well.
It looks like the worst of our squad problems this season are very much behind us.
