Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that midfielder James McCarthy is again available for selection after overcoming an injury setback.

McCarthy joined the Bhoys on August 3rd but a lack of pre-season has meant his progress has been slower than some of our other summer signings.

After featuring off the bench for matches against AZ Alkmaar and Hearts, he missed out on being included in the squad for St Mirren and Rangers.

Now, as reported by Sky Sports, Postecoglou has confirmed the Republic of Ireland international is back in contention.

Celtic play Ross County tomorrow in the Scottish Premiership, looking to get back to winning ways immediate winning ways following the trip to Ibrox.

Three points are an absolute must, even without the spark of Kyogo Furuhashi in the attack.

McCarthy may well be asked to take part from the start, given the exertions of various international talents over the recent break, such as Tom Rogic.

With Ryan Christie also exiting the club, there are new opportunities for a number of players in the squad, depending on what kind of team shape the manager decides to go for.

It’s set to be one of the most interesting team selections from the manager to date and all eyes will be on the announcement tomorrow at 13:45.
