Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle was a result that was always going to take hard work to get. The Hearts fixture in the capital is always a notoriously difficult one to negotiate but Celtic went about their business in a professional manner.
From the first whistle, Hearts set out their stall early and tried to attack us but they never really threatened Joe Hart’s goal.
But there was a moment in the game that is perceived as being a turning point in the match. The red card to Hearts defender Alex Cochrane.

The Jambo’s defender appeared to haul down Daizen Maeda as the Japanese forward was bearing down on goal. After a VAR check by Willie Collum, the match referee Nick Walsh reviewed the footage and brandished the red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Ange Postecoglou was asked about the decision post-match and, true to form, the Celtic manager gave a short but thrifty answer.
Ange said [BBC Sportsound], “Oh I don’t know. It doesn’t really matter what I think. I thought it was a red but whether I think it is or it isn’t doesn’t really matter.

“The referees faded and he’s had a look at it. So I assume he’s looked at it and thought it was. But I don’t think that’s why we won the league.”
If you listen carefully to the audio, you can hear Richard Gordon chuckling in the background. The BBC man is all too familiar with Ange’s quick replies that have now become almost legendary amongst the Celtic support.
The fans love Ange’s honesty in these post-match press conferences. We can look forward to more of these classic one-liners next season as the Celtic manager continues his excellent work at the club.
