Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou took time out of his holiday in Greece to speak to the Australian sports radio show Sportsday today, giving thoughts on his experiences in Glasgow.
The manager sounded relaxed and in great form as he answered questions on coaching in Scotland, interactions with supporters and his contract situation at the club.
Postecoglou has been asked about his 12-month rolling deal on multiple occasions and was so again today. The Celtic boss reiterated is in a very comfortable place when it comes to that side of things.

He told the presenters when asked about a long-term contract extension [Sportsday]: “I’ve never worried about that. Long-term contracts in coaching really mean absolute jack, as anyone will tell you. In my career, I’ve never worried about my contract length or security.
“I work as if I’ll be there forever knowing that I won’t be. I’m really happy at the football club. I’ve had an amazing year and amazing support. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a football club. It’s a massive club, it’s geared for success and I’m a pretty driven guy in terms of success. We’ve got Champions League football next year.
“Those are the kind of things that are important to me. Contracts and all those other factors just don’t enter my thinking. I’m very happy where I am and as long as the club want me to stay I’ll be around.”
It’s great to hear the manager again reaffirm his commitment to the Bhoys, even if the noise around his contract situation continues.
Most Celtic supporters know that 12-month rolling deals are how Celtic have done business over the last couple of decades.
Long-term deals here are very rare and it doesn’t sound like Postecoglou is much interested in it anyway. His passion for Celtic at this point in his career is undeniable and there’s no question about him diving into next season.
Right now, that’s all that matters for both parties!
