Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is keeping things in perspective when it comes to the pressure he faces in his job.
The Bhoys boss understands he carries the expectations of the entire Celtic support on his shoulders.
Not only does he relish that, he knows it pales in comparison to some of the challenges other people face on a day-to-day basis.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun this weekend, he said: “You have to keep things in perspective. I’m under no illusions. I know that our supporters see this as very important.
“To them, it’s not just football. For the fans of this football club it’s not just about the team winning or losing. It’s a way of life for them so it dictates their whole week.
“We understand we have a responsibility and there are massive consequences if you’re not successful. So there’s perspective to that. But there are a lot of people who have to deal with far more difficult things than I do on a weekly basis.
“At the same time, we also carry the responsibility of representing this club. I’m totally invested in that and what this club is about.”
67 Hail Hail chats to Ange Postecoglou & Greg Taylor | Ross County vs Celtic Preview
Postecoglou undoubtedly understands what Celtic is all about. At the same time, he is a born winner and won’t accept anything less than now getting over the line in the Scottish Premiership from this position.
His communication with the Celtic support has been top class all season. For me, it’s been a large part of building what this project is. He needed to win hearts and minds and has done so.
Winning football games never hurts either of course and that’s the challenge today. Make supporters happy. Make their week.
