Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has admitted he feels for Jack Ross after the former Hibs boss was sacked before leading his team out to a cup final.
However, he has insisted that Celtic’s preparations for the occasion haven’t been changed as a result.
David Gray takes temporary charge of Hibs today, with Shaun Maloney widely expected to come in and start his reign as boss next week.

Celtic boss has sympathy for Jack Ross
Postecoglou told The Herald: “Our existence as managers, well, not existence because nobody kills us, but our role is dependent on results. We all realise that at some point if things don’t go well then potentially we could be removed. But I do feel for Jack. He has got a team to a final, but is not there. It was so close.
“In terms of our preparation, I don’t think anything changes. They made the change a couple of weeks back and have had a couple of games since. We have been able to analyse them.
“They are still the same team, they are still a very good side. They have real quality up front and showed that in the semi-final. We will have to make sure we are prepared for it.”
For me, Ross wasn’t actually doing a bad job at all at Hibs. It was especially harsh to sack him before a cup final, especially when they have been unable to find a replacement for it since.
Ultimately Maloney may offer a better long-term vision for the Easter Road side. I’m certainly intrigued by his potential appointment. Not least because it could have long-term implications for the Celtic job once Postecoglou moves on one day.
Thankfully that won’t happen anytime soon and Postecoglou has the chance to solidify his excellent early work at Celtic with a trophy today.
In other news, Cameron Carter-Vickers likes what he’s seeing from rarely used Celtic summer signing.
