If you want to talk about Ange Postecoglou and his inspired Celtic signings, loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers has to be one of the first names in the discussion.
The Tottenham Hotspur man has been the model of consistency for the Hoops this season. He’s only missed two games since joining the club late in the summer. The ones he has played in, he’s been on the pitch from start to finish [Transfermarkt].
However, it’s not praise of Cameron Carter-Vickers that’s the story here. It’s praise from Cameron Carter-Vickers, towards his Cup-winning Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.

USA international CCV has been left extremely impressed by the boss. And, he had some kind words to say about the former Australia manager.
Carter-Vickers said of Postecoglou [Daily Record]: “He’s a really good manager, to be fair. All the boys really believe in the way he wants to play, and we are right behind him on that. We want to play the same football he wants to play.
“He’s a great guy, to be fair, he’s looked after all the players. From the ones who are playing every week to the ones who aren’t. We really feel he is working to get the best out of us.
“The whole squad and the manager is fully aware of [the goal of winning the league]. It’s something we know we need to work towards.”
Celtic star Cameron Carter-Vickers and his well-timed Ange Postecoglou comments
The time to rally around the manager is right now. Sunday’s League Cup win, amidst a raft of injuries, showed the intensity and the spirit that Ange Postecoglou has espoused at Celtic.
Sure, Hibernian had problems of their own. But they were a strong match for Celtic regardless, and it took some inspiration from Kyogo and defensive resiliency to secure the silverware. Cameron Carter-Vickers, who had another great game, was a key part.
These comments are well-timed from Cameron Carter-Vickers. It’d be easy to get swept up in the immediate aftermath of a Cup win, but there’s a plan for longer-term success. That’s extremely important. For a loanee like Carter-Vickers to buy into that so emphatically is a fantastic sign.

Carter-Vickers, like Jota, could’ve been forgiven for remaining more stoic about this season. Celtic fans will hope we can capture both permanently, but there’s a lot that’s unclear after 21-22. But both players have been emphatically into what Ange Postecoglou is trying to achieve at this football club.
For less charismatic and determined managers, playing in a risky, high-intensity system might have been a tough sell. Especially with the prevalence of hamstring injuries that we’ve seen this season.
Instead, players are enthusiastically carrying out Postecoglou’s instructions to the letter. We’ve already seen that approach garner silverware. Let’s hope there’s more to come.
