Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou was one of the people to send a friendly text to new Omonia Nicosia manager Neil Lennon after he landed the job in Cyprus, The Scottish Sun has reported.
Lennon has received many well wishes from across football and Postecoglou, who replaced the former Celtic boss at Parkhead, reached out to him as well.
It comes as Lennon drew at home to Doxa 2-2 in his first match as manager.
It’s been a big week for Lennon, who was also presented to the media yesterday and even borrowed a famous line from Martin O’Neill’s legendary unveiling on the steps of Celtic Park, something he admits himself to.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, he said: “Martin has been on at me about going back into management. I’ve seen him three or four times over the last year – and I know he’s also still looking to get back in. I’ve spoken to him at length on the phone a few times.
“I owe everything to Martin in terms of my career, as a player, and what he brought to me from a managerial point of view. I will always be grateful.
“I can’t deny, what I said at my press conference was from Martin after he became Celtic manager. I thought it was a great quote – it just covered it beautifully.
“It’s the right thing to say. It’s not too brash nor is it saying you’re going to do this and that. It’s quite simple – I will do everything in my power to bring success to this football club.”
Although Lennon left the club in bad circumstances, there will be plenty of fans hoping he does well wherever he goes next. His contributions to Celtic over the last 20 years are undeniable even if it all went pear-shaped last season.
Personally, I’m hoping he does well in Cyprus and manages to move on from last year. At this point, it’s almost been spoken about too much with Lennon obsessed with it in the media and some fans unable to let go either.
This job should allow many to put it all behind them.
In other news, Ange Postecoglou’s hour-long Zoom call that convinced him Celtic were serious about job offer.
