Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been named Premiership Manager of the Month for September.
It was a terrific month for the Hoops as we won all four of our league fixtures and extended our lead at the top of the table.
Celtic started September with a monumental 1-0 success at Ibrox, with Kyogo Furuhashi firing our rivals into crisis mode with a terrific first-half strike.
After that, three second-half goals did the damage against Dundee before we repeated the 3-0 success away to Livingston the following weekend.

The month was rounded off with a dramatic finish at Fir Park that saw us 2-1 winners after three very late goals.
Given that he presided over wins at Rangers, Livingston and Motherwell, it’s hard to argue against Rodgers being the best top-flight manager of the month. He follows on from St. Mirren boss Stephen Robinson who won it in August.
“I’m delighted to accept this award on behalf of the players and my backroom team,” he said, as reported on the official Celtic website.
“We have enjoyed a very successful September with some excellent performances leading to very positive results in the league.
“Although it is early in the season, everyone is getting to know my way of working and the players’ togetherness and application has been tremendous.
“Even in the face of some significant injury challenges, the whole squad has stood up extremely well with so many players making important contributions. Our focus now will be to continue this good work as we face some tough tests ahead.”

September was a month for Celtic standing up amid a spate of injuries. The team did just that. Rodgers, his players, and his coaching staff deserve immense credit for guiding us through that period. The knives were out at one stage.
It was notable that he had 12 different staff members join him for the award photo (SPFL). The likes of Harry Kewell and Stevie Woods were present, but so were some lesser-known figures like scout Peter Houston.
It is a classy move from Rodgers to include a number of those backroom members who have helped him to the award. It just adds to the feeling that we’re all in this together.
Next up, Tynecastle on Sunday.
