Brendan Rodgers has reacted after the Celtic boss claimed the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month award after an impressive November for the defending champions.

The Irishman led his side to victories over Kilmarnock, Heart of Midlothian and Ross County, which have since been followed up by the Bhoys’ triumph over Aberdeen earlier this week to cement their spot at the top.

Obviously, the last result doesn’t contribute to his accolade, but it does demonstrate why Celtic find themselves seven points clear at the Scottish Premiership summit after 14 matches.

Unbeaten across all domestic competitions, Brendan Rodgers has drawn plenty of admirers this term for his sterling work and tactical nous to see valuable points over the line.

Now, he has been reacting to claiming another individual gong that is a fitting complement to the Bhoys’ start to the campaign.

Speaking out after winning the award, Rodgers paid tribute to the ‘collective’ effort his players and staff have put into some difficult encounters that have strengthened their hold on top spot. He also acknowledged the role supporters have had to play across November.

He stated [Celtic FC]: “I am delighted to accept this award again on behalf of our whole team and staff.

“What’s notable for me is the real collective effort we have shown right across the squad, with so many players rising to the challenges we have faced, particularly at some very difficult venues and, particularly this week, in some really tough conditions.

“It’s important I recognise our supporters, too, who have been hugely important on this journey with us. Now we keep on going, focus on what lies ahead as we face another very challenging period.”

Celtic now looking to lay down a marker in festive period

Out with the old and in with the new is the mantra for Celtic. Rodgers deserves plaudits for his award, but he has acknowledged there is still plenty of work to be done as the festive period is now on the horizon.

Tomorrow, the Bhoys take on Hibernian at Parkhead on league duty before shifting their mind to a pivotal Champions League encounter away to Dinamo Zagreb next midweek.

Once the trip to Croatia is out of the way, there is also the small matter of a Premier Sports Cup final against Rangers to whet the appetite, offering his side a chance to claim the first silverware of the season.

Of course, the Irishman will take a moment to pause and reflect, though it is likely to be brief as he sets about conquering all domestically and fighting the good fight in Europe!
