The team that Neil Lennon selects to take on Clyde in the Scottish Cup on Sunday will certainly be worth talking about.
The Hoops boss will more than likely make some changes, as the Hoops are taking on a League One side, and have some vital league games coming on.
We might see some players who have not started in recent weeks for the Hoops feature, and Lennon has named a Celtic duo who are in contention to make appearances in the game – Ryan Christie and Mohamed Elyounoussi.
“Might need some game time”
“Guys like Ryan could do with the game and Mohamed Elyounoussi, he’s coming back to fitness and might need some game time. We’ll still be strong” Lennon said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
Christie has not started a game for the Hoops since returning from suspension, he has been limited to some appearances off the bench.
Meanwhile, Elyounoussi has just returned to the first-team squad after two months out, and was an unused substitute against Motherwell in midweek.
If a prediction was to be made, it would be that Christie will start the game, whilst Elyounoussi will make his return as a substitute.
Time seems right for attacker to start game
The time seems right for Christie to make his first start of 2020. It will be interesting to see how he fares playing in a 3-5-2, which is the formation the Hoops have mostly used whilst he has been out of the side.
As for Elyounoussi, it is probably too early for him to be given a start for the Hoops after his return from injury, and it would be best if he featured off the bench.
Hopefully the duo get through the game unscathed should they feature, and help the Hoops reach the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.
