Celtic boss Neil Lennon has provided an update on if any of the Hoops’ current absentees will be back in time for Celtic’s game against Milan on Thursday, whilst appearing on the Celtic YouTube channel.

Lennon admitted that Christopher Jullien, who wasn’t even on the bench against Rangers is a doubt for the game However, Ryan Christie might return to the Hoops squad after his self-isolation period is over.

“We’ll have to see”

“Chris Jullien, I doubt very much will be available…maybe Ryan, maybe we’ll have Ryan back, we’ll have to see how it is over the next few days” the Hoops boss said, whilst appearing on the Celtic YouTube channel.

It was always going to be a tough game for the Hoops against Milan, who have made a good start to the Italian season. However, if it is broadly the same team that faced Rangers that start against Milan, then it could be a long night for the Hoops.

It would then, be a boost if Ryan Christie is available to take part in the game, even from off the bench. His attacking instinct could be in valuable for the Hoops. However, as he has been in self-isolation for so long, he has to be a doubt for Celtic.

Replacement for defender is available

The absence of Jullien will be a blow. However, Stephen Welsh performed well enough in the 2-0 defeat to Rangers. He wasn’t to blame for the defeat.

Jullien’s injury is certainly a concern though. The £7m signing was on the bench for the games against Sarajevo and St Johnstone. However, he hasn’t kicked a ball for the club since the win over Ross County in September.

Therefore, he hasn’t been able to form a partnership with the likes of Shane Duffy and Kris Ajer. Still, that does give Welsh another chance to see if he can make it with the Hoops. As for Christie, hopefully he gets the nod to make his comeback.

In other news, Neil Lennon was impressed with Diego Laxalt’s Celtic debut.
