Giorgos Giakoumakis may be the Celtic player in form up front, but Ange Postecoglou is definitely not going to rely on goals coming from one area.
The Hoops have been prolific across the park; even Anthony Ralston has 4 goals and 7 assists to his name [WhoScored?]. Though the likes of Abada, Kyogo, Jota and recently Giakoumakis have had spells of being prolific, Ange refuses to put all of his goal-scoring eggs in the one basket.
With Bodo/Glimt coming up tomorrow night, the Celtic manager knows that goals are very much needed. But while Giakoumakis is the most recent hat-trick hero, others have to step up, too. Everyone from Cameron Carter-Vickers to Albian Ajeti have contributed with strikes over 21-22, a season that’s been full of surprises and new faces.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s game, Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou said [Celtic FC]: “Again, that’s not our approach.
“Our approach has always been that we get goals from multiple avenues. Giako scored three goals [against Dundee] but …for the whole season, the goals have been shared around. That’s going to be the key tomorrow, it’s not about just one person.
“The reason we score so many goals is that we’ve got multiple avenues of goal threat, and that’ll be our approach again tomorrow. Because that’s our approach every week.”
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou refuses to rely on Giorgos Giakoumakis, and why not?
It’d be bizarre to put pressure on one player to drag us through tomorrow evening’s game.
Last season, there was a heck of a lot of pressure on Odsonne Edouard to see Celtic through tough fixtures. This season, we’ve hoped for moments of magic from Kyogo, for example. But relying on singular players to get us through is not a long-term way of thinking.
Ange Postecoglou doesn’t seem to believe in talismanic players. Yes, it’s great to have individual talents who can lift the players around them, no question. But in terms of goal output, as far as Ange is concerned, it’s got to be a collective effort.

It’s an attitude that’s served us well so far.
That said, you’d hope Giakoumakis, the striker with the most confidence right now, gets a start tomorrow in Bodo. With three first-time finishes, and the knowledge that Celtic can create plenty against the Norwegian champions, it’s surely he that will get the nod from Ange Postecoglou.
When he does, though, it won’t be his sole responsibility to win this game for Celtic. It’s about performing as a group. If they do, the incentives speak for themselves.
