Celtic boss on a major difference between this season and last season

Neil Lennon has identified a major difference between managing Celtic this season, and his spell as caretaker manager last season.

He feels that he is under less pressure than he was last season. As a result, he is enjoying the job more this season.

“There is always pressure in this role when in a cup competition but I don’t feel the weight of pressure this time which I might have done three or four months ago” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“I can breathe a little bit better”

“It’s lovely. I can breathe a little bit better.”

The fact that Lennon is no longer caretaker manager will undoubtedly mean that he is under less pressure than he was last season.

Uncertain performances have been eradicated

There was an uncertainty about the Hoops play towards the end of last season. That may be down to the fact that Lennon didn’t know if he was going to be the Hoops’ permanent manager or not.

That may be the reason why the Hoops played so poorly at times when he was caretaker manager.

Things on the pitch have improved since Lennon was named as Celtic’s permanent manager. Aside from the loss to Cluj, the Hoops have been in excellent form, and have played with a freedom that was lacking from performances last season.

There is no doubt that Lennon will come under pressure once more this season. He did after the loss to Cluj, but the team and manager responded in style. Hopefully there will be a similar response to any domestic games that the Hoops lose this season.
