Considering Celtic have managed to run away in the Scottish Premiership title-race, another Rangers star has come out and roared about next year.
There are no prizes for guessing who it is either.
Yes, Rangers captain James Tavernier believes Celtic can be caught next season. The Ibrox star refused to entertain the notion that the Hoops will run away with anything next term.

Speaking in the Daily Express, the Rangers full-back spoke about what needs to be done in order to catch Neil Lennon’s Champions-elect.
“The last four performances have put us in a really good position for next season. If we can continue to apply ourselves and keep listening to the management team and the way they want us to play then we should have a really good chance (of winning the league).
“You have seen it in the English Premier League, Manchester City and Liverpool have been terrific all season.
“That is what it takes to win a league, you can’t have any speed bumps during a season because it will cost you.”
And we’re quaking once again
Tavernier’s annual message about Rangers closing the gap NEXT season has come a little early. It’s a bit like the Purge. It’s the same nonsense every year. He usually waits until the summer to spout his propaganda, but not too many at Parkhead will be shaking you would imagine.
Firstly, you have to laugh at the Rangers captain’s staunchness in not name-dropping us. Instead of looking at the team above his side, he’s deciding to look at the English table-toppers instead. A tad desperate, as Celtic are the side who have shown Rangers what it truly takes to win the league for the last eight years.
Rangers have actually performed well since losing to Celtic back in March. Four successive wins without actually conceding a goal is good work. It’s hardly a coincidence that it came after Celtic had run away with the title. though.

For a side whose supporters consistently talk about us potentially buckling under pressure, they hardly cope with it themselves.
That’s not to say Celtic can’t be caught either. Of course we can – we’re hardly the invincibles of 2017. But it’s the lack of humility that comes from Tavernier on a consistent basis that leaves you shaking your head.
He’s never liked praising us, and has always avoided any form of classy applause for Celtic’s achievements during his time up here. That’s fine. But hopefully one day he may learn to keep quiet before a new season has started, as his outlandish predictions have certainly never proved to be correct since he came up to Scotland four years ago.
