Celtic captain Scott Brown has praised duo Ismaila Soro and Patryk Klimala after working with the pair during pre-season, speaking to CelticFC.net.
Soro has yet to make his debut at the club following his January switch from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda, while Klimala has made only a handful of appearances.
However, it’s been a big pre-season for the pair and they’ve already won plaudits from midfielder Callum McGregor and manager Neil Lennon in recent weeks.
They’ve been part of the manager’s squad for the trips to Loughborough University and France.
Now they’re getting a big endorsement from the club captain, who sets high standards both in training and in matches.
As quoted by CelticFC.net, Brown said: “Patryk and Ismaila are two great guys, they’ve settled in really well.
“They got a little taste of it here last season to see what it was all about, see what the club is all about, to see what the expectation levels are as well.
“They both know we’ve got to turn up, and we’ve got to win every single game. They know that, they work hard in training and here’s hoping they keep pushing on because we’re going to need the squad this season, that’s for sure.”
Celtic arrived in Lyon earlier today and will now prepare for a trio of difficult matches against Ligue 1 competition over the next week.
First up is Nice on Thursday, before going up against former player Moussa Dembele and his Lyon team on Saturday.
Then it’s a daunting trip to Paris to face champions Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday.
Lennon’s team selections will be interesting and hopefully we get to see a bit of Soro and Klimala in action.
The latter has an especially big opportunity to impress further after Leigh Griffiths’ fitness issues.
Will the French trip be the making of the pair?
