The actions of Celtic captain Scott Brown are set to be reviewed by a three-man SFA panel of former grade one referees after last night’s win over Kilmarnock.

The Daily Record reports the panel will meet this week to review television footage of an incident involving Brown and Aaron Tshibola.

A Hampden source told the paper: “Any issue arising from last night will be assessed by an expert panel of former referees and they’ll report back by 9am tomorrow.

“If any are unanimously decided then clubs will be informed by 3pm tomorrow.”

Sky Sports made the coming together a talking point on their coverage last night, asking manager Neil Lennon about the apparent elbow.

The Celtic manager dismissed it, telling the broadcaster: “I didn’t think that there was anything in it. Two weeks ago at Livingston, it was maybe a little bit more, or looked a bit more, deliberate but I don’t think that there was anything in that tonight at all.”

Doubtful then that the Bhoys boss will be happy that the incident is set to be reviewed. Even less so if the panel decides retrospective punishment should be dished out to the Celtic veteran.

Lennon hasn’t exactly been shy to air his opinions recently, controversial or not. If the panel does decide to hand out a suspension it’d be very interesting to hear what the manager has to say.

Brown has only just returned from a two-game suspension for a straight red card against Livingston.

The captain played well in spells last night and the manager will want him available as much as possible over the coming weeks, after stating Ismaila Soro was looking fatigued.

Lennon was also full of praise for Brown in his post-match interviews last night.

I guess we’ll find out tomorrow how it all plays out.

In other news, Neil Lennon has been talking about wantaway Celtic players again.
