Celtic YouTube channel “Celtic Fans TV” has received a reply from the club after a query about the mythical ‘new year review’ of Neil Lennon’s position as manager.

The club said in a statement on December 7th: “Whilst it has been suggested that it is time for a change, at this stage in the season the Board believes that Neil and his management team are best placed to turn the team’s performances around and lead us on to success. The Board continues to work closely with Neil and his team to support them as they seek to do so and progress will be reviewed in the new year.”

Since then, the club lost to Rangers, fell further behind in the Scottish Premiership and got themselves involved in a Dubai debacle.

Needless to say, fans still have concerns about the short and long-term future of the club.

Celtic have been silent on the issue.

Paul from Celtic Fans TV took initiative and sent a letter to club Chief Executive Peter Lawwell on January 8th, seeking an update on the review and whether or not it had been completed.

Some reports had indicated it might have been.

He’s waited a long time, but today Paul got a reply.

The response came from chairman Ian Bankier, who confirmed that he was planning to update supporters on their concerns with a statement “very shortly”, at the same time as issuing the half-year financial trading update.

So there you have it. When we get the interim results, we should at least get a bit of communication with regards to Lennon’s future.

As Paul notes in his video, at this stage, it looks like he’ll be in the dugout until the rest of the season. Let’s see what the next week brings.
