Celtic have seen one of their Scottish Premiership fixtures in late October moved as TV plans start to slot in place for a hectic few months competing on all fronts.

The Bhoys return this weekend against Heart of Midlothian after the international break. Before club football takes a seat on the back burner again, they will face Slovan Bratislava, Falkirk, St Johnstone, Borussia Dortmund, and Ross County in quick succession.

Brendan Rodgers’ men are preparing for Champions League involvement, which will give the campaign a different feel due to two extra matches in the new Swiss-style format.

Scheduled to participate in the tournament until at least late January 2025, the swift turnaround in post-European matches will stretch squad depth.

However, Celtic have been given a little more breathing room after their away clash against Atalanta on October 23rd following a new fixture change update.

Celtic given breathing room after tough Atalanta tie

Initially set to kick-off on Saturday, October 26th at 3 pm, Celtic’s trip to Motherwell has been moved to Sunday, October 27th at the same time, giving the Bhoys a little bit of breathing room after a test against last campaign’s Europa League winners.

Sky Sports have confirmed that they will show live coverage of the Fir Park trip, forming the latest instalment of their television picks. Despite the Hoops’ involvement in the Champions League, that isn’t set to impact the following weekend matches.

Unless they are pencilled in for the new Thursday slot, future live broadcasts, regardless of platform, are unlikely to undergo much change.

Nevertheless, Celtic will have an extra day of rest after returning from Gewiss Stadium, which can be considered a positive despite yet another Sunday kick-off for match-going fans to contend with.

It should be noted that the Bhoys’ home clash against Aberdeen on Saturday, October 19th at 3 pm, which is likely to generate nationwide interest due to both sides’ positive starts this term, remains untouched.
