Celtic have confirmed the club’s next match will be in Champions League qualifying against KR Reykjavik at Celtic Park next Tuesday night, in a statement on the official website today.

The Bhoys’ next two Scottish Premiership fixtures have been postponed following the well-publicised Boli Bolingoli drama and even prior to that news there had been concerns about the qualifier going ahead in Glasgow.

Neil Lennon admitted at the weekend that the club were awaiting confirmation from authorities that the 2019 Icelandic champions would have permission to fly in for the one-legged tie.

That will be the case, with the game due to go ahead on 18th August at 7:45pm.

The match will be broadcast live for season ticket holders on the ‘Pass To Paradise’ system, with other fans in the UK & Ireland able to tune in to the action on Premier Sports.

Celtic are playing for a place in the second qualifying round, where we have been drawn at home to Ferencvaros or Djurgardens.

Lennon’s team will be red hot favourites and there can be no excuses when it comes to progression.

Some in the squad will have experience of playing Reykjavik in qualifying, having beaten them 5-0 on aggregate in the summer of 2014.

A similar scoreline would go some way to restoring faith that Celtic are back on track after a tumultuous start to the season but the most important thing is simply getting the job done and moving on to the next round.

It’s time to put all this behind us, roll our sleeves up and get stuck into our ambitions this term.

In other news, Celtic are facing a league points deficit after the Boli Bolingoli incident.
