Celtic contact fans on season ticket waiting list as deadline looms

Celtic have moved to contact fans on the season ticket waiting list as the deadline for renewals closes in.

Supporters have until Friday, June 25th to bag their ticket for the new campaign. It comes only a couple of weeks after the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the new manager.

However, it looks as though the club is preparing for the next phase of their season ticket campaign already. An email was sent out to those who are on the waiting list for a ticket this season.

As the club urged fans to ensure all contact details were up to date, they emphasised the promise of “entertaining and attacking football”:

“With the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the new Celtic Manager, anticipation is building for the campaign ahead as we focus on the future, with the promise of entertaining and attacking football to look forward to and we very much hope you’ll be able to join us.

“With places in Paradise always in high demand, we’re getting in touch to let you know that we will be working to offer seats to our Waiting List members for Season 2021/22 as soon as we possibly can.

“In the meantime, it would be helpful to ensure that your contact details (and those of anyone else you registered on behalf of) are accurate and up to date – this will ensure a quick and easy process should we be in a position to offer you a Season Ticket for the campaign ahead.”

Have Celtic managed to repair some of the season ticket damage?

The club had released its season ticket campaign two weeks before the appointment of Postecoglou. At the time, it looked like a horrific thing to do with fan anger at its peak. This was due to the uncertainty surrounding the club.

Whilst Postecoglou’s appointment has given supporters a sense of the direction they’re heading in, we still don’t truly know what we’re buying into.

Fans have next to no idea what the squad will look like given the overhaul required. Renewing always comes with a risk of what could happen in the summer transfer window. However, there remain a heck of a lot more questions at Celtic than answers.

It’ll be interesting to see how many renewals Celtic are able to tally up. The same goes for the total number of season tickets we sell. Supporters may have hoped for a clearer vision of the team than we’ll have on June 25th, however.

With Celtic having yet to bring a major signing in the door, the fans still need something to get excited about. Celtic have already tried to claim that the response to season-ticket renewals was positive even before the manager was appointed. Whether that was indeed the case is anyone’s guess.

But it’s hopefully all systems go from here on in. The new season is closing in on us, and hopefully a flurry of transfer activity comes before. Let’s see how many are ready to buy into the project.

In other news, Celtic are in danger of having major defensive shortages for FC Midtjylland.
