Celtic fans have learned who they could possibly face in next season’s Europa Conference League after Football Rankings projected the pot the Glasgow giants could land in.
Indeed, this is all down to whether or not Celtic win the league, and after the defeat to Hibs at Celtic Park on Sunday, that’s starting to look a little more difficult now.
However, it appears that Celtic will be one of the highest ranked teams in the Europa Conference League after Football Rankings shared their projected pots for next season’s competition.

Celtic could draw Newcastle United in Pot 2 as Europa Conference League Pot 1 is projected
Celtic have never appeared in the Conference League and should the unthinkable happen and Martin O’Neill can’t save the title defence, UEFA’s third-tier competition will await the Bhoys.
Celtic fans would you rather: Win the Europa League but miss out on the league title?
Or… get knocked out of the Europa League and win the title?
O’Neill could see Celtic in Pot 1 alongside Eintracht Frankfurt, AZ Alkmaar, Athletic Club, Slovan Bratislava and Basel.
In Pot 2, Newcastle United, Ludogorets, Genk, Lugano, Celje and Como await.
Celtic could win the Europa Conference League
Looking at the other pots, if Celtic do have to participate in this competition, there is a very real chance that the Conference League is winnable.
In Pot 3, Besiktas and Strasbourg would be the most difficult opponents and in Pot 4, Brann and Twente would be tough.
Pot 5 and Pot 6 sees Trabzonspor, Brondby and possibly Lillestrom offering decent competition, but in truth, if Celtic can get their house in order, the Europa Conference League is a competition the Hoops should be looking to progress in, if not lift the trophy.
