Auchinleck Talbot were jumping for joy when they found out that they would be hosting Celtic in the Scottish Cup fourth round.

The Ayrshire side were rewarded with a home tie against the Hoops for advancing through the previous rounds, but were dealt a major bombshell.

Following a decision made by the authorities, Auchinleck vs Celtic will be played at Rugby Park on 18 January.

Around 9,000 Hoops fans are expected to be there, but that may not be the case for the designated hosts.

Fans of the non-league outfit are raging with the decision after citing that they were allowed to play Hearts at their home ground in the past.

Having to play it at Kilmarnock has left a sour taste in their mouth and there are some fans who have said that they won’t be going to watch what was supposed to be their dream tie.

Club legend Kenny Paterson is one of the many devastated by the decision and has said he will watch the game elsewhere.

He told the Scottish Sun: “I haven’t come across a single fan who’s happy with the move. I’m devastated to the point where I’m not going to the tie and I know many people who are doing the same.

“I’ll go to the social club and all the money I’d have spent going to Kilmarnock will at least go straight to Auchinleck.

“The whole thing stinks. The club has spent hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds making sure we had the licence to play in the Scottish Cup.”
