Celtic should cut ties with poor Olivier Ntcham

Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham isn’t living up to the suspected hype that surrounds him.

The £4.5 million buy from Manchester City isn’t showing why the Hoops forked out the high fee for him.

A few sporadic games in which he looked decent are deceiving a lot of people’s view on him.

A first-team spot shouldn’t be automatic and he must prove why Neil Lennon should select him.

Ntcham looks disinterested at Celtic

If anything sums up Ntcham at Celtic, it’s the penalty he missed against St Mirren in the 0-2 victory.

The out of sorts Frenchman stepped up like the big shot he thinks he is and missed it after trying to deceive the Saints keeper.

Not only that, he missed his penalty before that in the Europa League on a grand stage.

He has only played two games since his return from injury and not a lot looks changed with him.

Ntcham seems lazy, lackadaisical and isn’t interested overall which isn’t what Celtic need.

His last game before injury, a defeat away to Rangers, he stuck out like a sore thumb and missed a sitter.

Likewise, at Parkhead at the weekend, he spurned a chance for an early goal from point blank range.

Hoops must look to send him on in summer

The 23-year-old looks is someone who has lost his way and the board should be looking for a buyer.

Porto were interested with a massive bid last summer but they’ll unlikely repeat that.

He will have sights set on getting into a big club and try and force his way into the France senior squad but at the moment he is well off.

Ntcham can be a good player and has shown that before but he has similarities to Scott Sinclair.

Like the winger, with confidence, he is unplayable but it isn’t happening enough for him.

Both players seem to play with weight on their shoulders and lack the cutting edge which fans want.

It will be best for all parties if Ntcham moves on in the summer and both player and club can move on.
