Celtic centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers has been nominated in the defender’s category for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team’s team of the season.
The American international has been a consistent member of the backline during Ange Postecoglou’s first year as Celtic boss, and many have argued that the 23-year old has been one of the best performers across the campaign.
For those who are not aware, FIFA ultimate team or FUT is a game mode on the popular video game FIFA 22, which involves players building the best squad possible from players of their choice around the globe.
Around this time of year, the ‘team of the season’ from several different leagues are announced, with players getting big upgrades to their cards based on their performances on the pitch for their individual teams.
It’s a big thing for a particular generation of football fans!
Carter-Vickers has been nominated as a potential option in the defender’s category for FUT players to vote on alongside English Premier League stars such as Aymeric Laporte of Manchester City and Tino Livramento of Southampton.
Carter-Vickers has been a rock at the back for Celtic
It is scary for some to think where we might be had Carter-Vickers not joined at the last minute of the transfer window after the impact he has made within the side this season.
Alongside Carl Starfelt, the duo have grown as the season has gone on, which has led to the Hoops holding an impressive defensive record in the Scottish Premiership.
Not only are his defensive actions so crucial, but Carter-Vickers also has a huge role to play when it comes to the build-up of Ange Postecoglou’s attacking side.

He’s had important goal contributions too, recently scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory over Rangers at Ibrox.
So, I think Celtic fans would agree that CCV deserves this accolade on the video game for his performances.
Now, it’s a case of the defender finishing the season off strongly and hoping that we can see a permanent deal completed that would see him stay in Glasgow this summer.
