Celtic star Greg Taylor has confirmed his hope that his shoulder woes are now finally a thing of the past.
The defender initially pulled up with a shoulder complaint in the Europa League qualifier against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands. He then had to be taken off after 45 minutes when he returned against Ross County in September.
This required Taylor to have surgery on his shoulder in a bit to finally put the issue to rest. The Scotland international was out of action for 4 months before returning in a league game against Dundee United in early December.

And as he looked ahead to tonight’s Premiership clash against Hibernian at Celtic Park, Taylor stated that he believes his shoulder concerns are now over.
As quoted by the Daily Record [print edition, 17/01, Page 50], Greg said: “The shoulder is good. Touchwood. I’ve no complaints. It was a long 10 weeks that I was out but I expected it to be longer initially.
“So the surgeon was really pleased to get back in that timeframe. That was really good. I also managed to play my part in the cup final, to be able to get back for that game and play was a real incentive and it was a great day. You hate missing games.
“I just hope to play and contribute as much as I can when the gaffer calls upon me. I have been happy with the performances so far, to be fair. I think there’s improvement in myself that can still happen, definitely.”
Celtic still in desperate need of a left-back to claim the role
Taylor hasn’t always been every supporter’s favourite player in the squad. However, it does feel as though he’s far too easily targeted then the team is struggling for form.
We’re talking about a player who has already tasted title success at Parkhead. Already tasted treble-success in fact. In terms of mentality and what he’s achieved at the club, he can absolutely be considered as one of the experienced pros who should be looked up to.
Celtic have, in truth, struggled to sort out their left-back concerns. Despite having a plethora of options at their disposal, nobody has as of yet managed to claim it as their own. Liam Scales has shown glimpses but doesn’t appear to be first-choice. Adam Montgomery still has some way to go. As for Boli Bolingoli, he looks destined for an exit before he ever pulls on the jersey again.

Taylor clearly remains the best of the bunch. Whilst Celtic could easily have strengthened at left-back and secured a more higher-class of talent, you’ll do well to match Taylor’s energy levels and commitment to the cause. He continues to be such a valuable asset for Postecoglou.
And in fairness, it looks as though the Hoops boss is set to give Taylor the jersey heading into the second half of the campaign. Considering we aren’t looking to make anymore signings this January, all eyes will be on whether Taylor can finally mark his territory again as Celtic’s number 1 left-back.
When he’s on his game, it’s difficult to see who can oust him.
