Celtic defender Jack Hendry made a big instant impression on his debut for Melbourne City over the weekend, finding himself named in the A-League’s Team of The Week.

The 24-year-old started in a match against for City against Perth Glory, who are chasing them towards the top of the table.
It was a crucial match but Hendry took to proceedings well and helped his team to a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw.
Given his struggles at Celtic since joining the club in 2018 it’s fair to say it’s a surprising turn of events.
He’s barely featured since Neil Lennon arrived, making just one appearance, with his other 25 under Brendan Rodgers often proving to be far from convincing.
His exit to Melbourne was largely celebrated by supporters last week.
Still, we wish nothing but the best for Celtic players so it’s nice to see him find a club that he can shine at.
If he can maintain consistency he could well end up earning a permanent move to Australia and change his life.
He clearly doesn’t have much of a future at Celtic Park.
These Melbourne City fans took to Twitter over the weekend to share their thoughts on his display…
Awesome debut it was too! Very well played Jack!

Great player! Can we keep him even when Windbichler recovers?

He was pretty solid
I read all the Celtic fans comments and thought what have we got here
But on first impression he will do a good job here, didn’t do anything spectacular but did his job at CB against one of the best attacking teams in the league
