Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is back in training as shown by the club on social media.

The picture on Twitter shows the firm fan favourite in great spirits ahead of an afternoon training at Lennoxtown.

This is welcome news for the injury hit side that is heading closer to a crunch tie with Valencia.

Tierney faces rush to return for Europa League tie

The Scotland international is one of many Hoops stars making home on the fitness table due to a hip injury.

The 21-year-old has been out injured since last year, missing the important tie against Rangers at Ibrox.

This is leaving Jonny Hayes and Emilio Izaguirre to deputise for the first choice left-back.

Manager Brendan Rodgers believes he still a few weeks from fitness, meaning a longer run in the team for the Honduran.

However, the Northern Irishman believes his squad can cope with the losses.

It will be a race against time to get Tierney in the squad before the Bhoys face Valencia in the Europa League.

This would be a massive boost with so many first team players out for the foreseeable future.

Injured star will come back to left-back contest

Tierney will be entering a different full-back spot than he has been used to.

Izaguirre is trying his best to make it his own and Jonny Hayes has moonlighted briefly there too amicably.

Furthermore, the failed loan move by Andrew Gutman back home to the USA means he will return to Glasgow.

Fans like to see new players at the club and will be chomping at the bit to see the newbie in action at some point.

However, the Hoops faithful will more so want to see Tierney back pulling on the jersey and reclaiming his spot.

New players and deputies will need to wait their turn to try and oust the boyhood Celtic fan.

Haste ye back Kieran.
