Celtic will make the trip to Italy next week as they look to improve on their Champions League travels.

Brendan Rodgers and his players will face off against last season’s Europa League winners Atalanta on Wednesday evening.

The Hoops will be determined to exorcise their demons after their most recent away matchday in the competition ended in a dismal 7-1 drubbing at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

Celts will certainly need to improve but they have Aberdeen in between their European journey to contend with first and a victory over their closest Scottish Premiership rivals can only breed confidence and optimism.

Thousands of punters are set to make the journey to watch their side face La Dea on their own patch and now the club has issued vital information for those fans taking flight.

Local police have shared their own matchday information including no-go areas for visiting fans before and after the match and there is to be a mandatory shuttle service for supporters heading to the stadium.

Fans will be asked to produce photo ID along with their tickets to Atalanta staff while Celtic themselves have issued a further demand NOT to bring pyro or fireworks following yet another fine and threat of an away game ban for fans.

Atalanta vs Celtic kicks off at 5.45pm on Wednesday evening

There will also be no storage area for bags which must be a maximum size of A4 only.
