Celtic won’t have to wait too long for their chance to exact some revenge on Rangers in the SFA Youth Cup – after the pair were drawn together in the second round.

The Hoops lost a nail-biting final at Hampden last year – going down 3-2 to their bitter rivals. Tommy McIntyre’s men did salvage some consolation shortly afterwards though when they beat the Gers by the same scoreline in the Glasgow Cup final at Celtic Park.
And now they will be given another chance to see off the Gers youngsters.

Celtic will be familiar with their Youth Cup opponents
It’s not yet known when or where the match will be played although Celtic were drawn as the home side, according to the Daily Record. One thing that is known by the respective teams will be their opponents. The sides are due to face each other twice already in the Glasgow Cup and twice more in the new cross-border Reserve League that was created recently.
Although the squad eligibility rules do differ for the various competitions, the majority of the sides will remain the same. For example, the likes of Armstrong Oko-Flex and Karamoko Dembele will be eligible, and likely to play, in all the fixtures.

Having these young guys play in pressure matches from a young age can only be good for their development. Hopefully they can get a taste of what it means to play in high-profile matches when the only thing that matters is winning.
That should set them up for a good career with the first-team.
