A weekend-long Celtic fan fundraiser has smashed through the £17,000 mark at the halfway stage, ahead of a huge Sunday.

Leading podcasts such as Celtic Underground, The Cynic and 4 Tims & A Pod were amongst those taking part in the 12-hour long live charity stream on YouTube today.

The whole endeavour is being organised by Paul John Dykes and his team at A State Of Mind Media.

They sent out a message tonight to update supporters on the charity total raised so far, stating on Twitter: “We have smashed through the £17,000 mark!

“Thank you to every single person who has contributed in any way to our Charity Weekender.

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

“At the end of one of the hardest years ever, these funds will change lives for some of the most vulnerable people within our communities.”

Four charities are set to be beneficiaries of the cash; Help 4 The Homeless, Children 1st, Food Fact Friends Foodbank and Roch Talk.

Not only has it all been for great causes, but there has been excellent Celtic chat throughout the day.

The Celtic fun doesn’t stop

There’s still a whole Sunday of streaming and discussion to come too, including ourselves at 67 Hail Hail and The Grand Auld Podcast!

We’re on from 6 pm, after the Scottish Cup Final, to share in the glory of a Quadruple Treble, or pick the bones over another dreadful day this season.

I doubt there’ll be an in-between.

I’ll be joined by Hamish Carton, Euan Davidson and our good friend Paul for an hour of chat until 7 pm.

Regardless of how tomorrow turns out on the pitch, we’re delighted to support an incredible effort from Dykes and his crew, as well as the charities of course.

Hopefully, you can join us and all the other Celtic podcasts taking part tomorrow. We’re proud to be part of this community.

You can find more information about the charities involved and how to donate at this GoFundMe page.
