Celtic fan media will unite this Wednesday night to debate the Shares For Value campaign.
The Celtic Trust and newly created group Celtic Shared want Celtic to reimburse season ticket holders with the option of taking up shares in the club.
It’s argued this provides supporters with the ‘additional value’ promised by the club last summer while making sure cash is retained by Celtic for the upcoming rebuilding effort.
Trust Chair, David Low, explained on their website in March: “Due to Covid, it’s a very difficult time for the whole sport and as Celtic fans we’ve had a very disappointing season. We want to help retain cash within the club and encourage season ticket sales for next season. We want to start next season in as strong a position as possible and our proposal helps achieve that objective.”
Representatives of 67 Hail Hail, as well as other prominent fan media outlets and podcasts such as 4 Tims & A Podcast, The Homebhoys, North Curve Celtic, More Than 90 Mins, A Celtic State of Mind and 20 Minute Tims, will come together at 7 pm on Wednesday 28th April to put questions to a panel of people from The Trust and Celtic Shared.
It will be hosted live on the ACSOM YouTube channel and is currently scheduled to last 90 minutes.
All of these fan media groups will have the chance to debate and discuss the proposals, with questions from other fans via social media and the live YouTube chat also set to be posed.
A range of views, from all sides of the debate, are certain to be aired.
We’re expecting a constructive discussion that explores the concept of club refunds for last season’s tickets, holding shares in Celtic and what that means, the importance of fans having a say in the running of the club and lots more besides.
If you have any specific questions you’d like us to raise with the panel, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our comments section below or our Twitter account.
