Somewhat surprisingly, ex-Celtic defender Ramon Vega has the support of plenty Celtic supporters in his quest to become the club’s new CEO.

Vega, according to the Sun, has already had his representatives make approaches to the Celtic hierarchy.

And despite only being at the club for a matter of months, Vega’s name appears to hold cachet amongst the supporters.

Seemingly taking to his own Twitter page to bolster his chances and support, Vega has kept his name in the mouths of supporters by replying to fans, talking about his past with the club and his love for Celtic.

Fans, online at least, are greeting his potential appointment with optimism. After Dominic McKay’s very brief time in the job, a replacement with someone of Vega’s standing might be a good move.

Since playing the game, Vega has gone into financial asset management, while investing in luxury hotel chains, and even putting together a campaign for FIFA leadership [AS].
