Celtic fans are making their David Turnbull demands loud and clear

It’s no surprise to the Celtic fans praising David Turnbull these days – he’s been a constant hero of theirs since breaking into the side back in December.

Even during what’s been a nightmarish season for the club, Turnbull has still been a fan-favourite. He hasn’t done himself any harm with his reputation shooting up to a level it’s never been at throughout any stage of his entire career.

Last night, he was bossing things again against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Despite being 1-0 down for long spells, Turnbull was Celtic’s stand out once again. The midfielder managed to strike the crossbar with a second half effort and put a host of terrific deliveries into the penalty area.

In the end, not much came of them due to some profligate finishing and sheer aerial incompetence from Turnbull’s teammates.

However, despite the game ending in a stalemate, Turnbull continued to do himself no harm when it comes to getting into Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad this summer.

The likes of Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor will almost certainly head to the Euros this summer. That’s despite both men being outshone by Turnbull in green-and-white on a weekly basis.

Even when the former Motherwell man has an off-day, it still can’t be deemed a poor game. He’s still our midfield driving force, and is offering more to Celtic than so many of his Euro 2020 teammates.
