Celtic fans are desperate to get Roberto Martinez in as the next permanent boss.
However, the manager’s agent has came out and rubbished claims that a deal is happening.
The former Wigan boss has turned the Hoops down in the past but always speaks highly of the club.
Unfortunately, Jesse De Preter says he “isn’t interested”.
The Spaniard knows a bit about Scottish football with Shaun Maloney as his assistant coach and his brief stint with Motherwell.
Roberto Martinez the man for Celtic
Since Brendan Rodgers’ shock departure, The Bhoys have been crying out for another big time gaffer.
The fans’ choices have been clear with the likes of Marco Rose and Andre Villas Boas as being highly favoured.
Now, Martinez is the new man that everyone wants at the helm at Parkhead.
Some of the Hoops faithful don’t want Lennon to take over full-time.
This would leave a mammoth job for Peter Lawwell and co to find a man to fit the big boots left by Rodgers.
If things went differently years ago, the Spaniard that fans are crying out for could have been in charge.
However, that also would have meant avoiding the embarrassment of the Tony Mowbray era.
Hoops fans call for Roberto Martinez
Some of the Celtic faithful have went to Twitter to voice their support for the ex-Motherwell man to take over.
It’s the minority that want Neil Lennon as Celtic manager no longer the majority! Would love to see AVB or Martinez as manager however knowing Peter Lawwell’s part record it’ll be the yes man cheap option so Neil Lennon will no doubt get the job. Celtic fans deserve a better man!

Can’t do us any harm that so much discussion around Celtic this week is how their fans are split over Lennon being long term answer. Players must be wondering. Villas-Boas, Martinez, Jack Ross all being mentioned as preferred choices.

I’d give Martinez a punt. Good flowing football. But the board will have to back him at a European level, not SPFL level. It seems to me the biggest hindrance to the Celtic evolution is the board.

Pros and cons of Roberto Martinez
Some fans are forgetting that due to Martinez’s current job, the chances of him starting early are slim.
The Hoops begin their pre-season on June 26th and Martinez is preparing Belgium for the Euros next year.
In fact, two weeks before he’d be due to start with Celtic, Belgium host Scotland for a qualifier.
He wouldn’t be able to do both jobs simultaneously as the Euros would conflict with Celtic’s early season start.
A pro of Martinez is that he would be assisted by Maloney who bleeds Celtic and knows all about the club.
This would help with easing him into the club as well as implementing his philosophy.
It could perhaps be the perfect storm to make his way back into club management.
