Read More"He has no clue"; Celtic fans are furious, and rightly so
So, Celtic supporters eventually got a noise out of the club CEO Peter Lawwell over Dubai.
Except this time, it wasn’t a training update, nor a perky interview with one of our youngsters. It was an apology, albeit one that tried to justify all the mistakes the club made. So, not really much of an apology.
Lawwell claimed that the club and supporters needed to be united, and that Celtic had much to be proud of during Covid-19.
Needless to say, it didn’t go down that well. Fans have instead clamoured for Lawwell to resign, while decrying the absolute betrayal the Dubai trip was to supporters.
With tens of thousands buying season tickets to little reward, this apology was about as popular as you’d expect.
A Message to Our Supporters.

“I can’t even bear to click”; Celtic supporters fuming at Peter Lawwell
Celtic fans were absolutely disgusted at Lawwell’s deflections and half-apologies.
Saying “I’m sincerely sorry” before trying to justify everything and rationalise it sort of negates the apology.

The message is “thanks for the money suckers!”
No apologies for the standard of football, signings, lack of ambition etc

He has no clue how the majority of the fans feel, so out of touch with the real problems. Same drivel we get from lennon after games

The heat continues for Celtic CEO Peter Lawwell
I can’t even bear to click on the video to watch it.
So disappointed as a supporter of my Club.
I feel like my Club don’t care about my support.
That’s just wrong.— Rab Smith 🏴 🍀 (@whitisthecraic) January 13, 2021
Utterly appalling response.

“How do we move forward?”
“Stick together”
That’s what a millionaire CEO brings to the table

We’re a club going in wrong direction top to bottom
– Woefully underprepared start of every season
– Penny pinching for targets in Scotland
– standards dropped massively since BR left. Can’t think of a player who has improved under NL
– so many signings failing to make an impact— John Carey (@Johnny_Carey) January 13, 2021
Unbelievable. Five seconds of an apology followed by five minutes of justification of why they went. An apology should be followed by the reasons why they got it wrong. This is hollow

There was no hindsight needed to know it was a mistake.

A lot of waffle. Can’t believe he’s went full state of the nation North Korea type address

I notice there’s twice as much replies as likes. Nobody is happy Peter.

Is that it? No mention of performance or the review of the managers position?
The apology was the bare minimum due and don’t insult everyone by saying we have been more affected than any other club; that’s largely our own fault!!
