Some Celtic fans are dreading a potential return for Efe Ambrose following his Derby County release.

The Nigerian international has left the Rams after failing to make an appearance.

With Neil Lennon back at the helm, he could bring back the defender to the club.

Signing him for two different clubs shows the Irishman is a big fan of the former calamity.

Efe Ambrose not out the question

Ambrose’s agent Dudu Dahan is very friendly with the club and especially Peter Lawwell.

He has brought the likes of Nir Bitton and Rami Gershon to the club in previous years.

It would be an easy cop out by Lennon and co to bring Ambrose back for a second spell, but it can’t be counted out.

Even a legend of the game Frank Lampard seen something in Ambrose to sign him for Derby.

However, day-to-day training will have proven that he made a grave error in his part.

Now with the 30-year-old without a club, he will be looking for a secure club to spend his twilight years in.

He is still based in Scotland, so a move back to Glasgow definitely can’t be ruled out.

Celtic fans fear Efe Ambrose return

Some of the Hoops faithful have taken to Twitter to try and dispell any notion of a return for Ambrose.

Celtic must recruit quick to halt early worries

Fans will be begging the club to seal up the defenders ASAP to stop Ambrose concerns.

Not only in defence, but other areas need freshening up with top quality recruits.

However, signing the likes of Ambrose will only put the club back in terms of goals.

He is now on the wrong side of 30 and will always have a comical aspect around him.

Celtic should go out and get the right players and seal nine-in-a-row.

Failure to do so and fans will be left thinking, what if?
